Chip Adams serves as the Director of the Texas Music Office (TMO) within the Office of the Governor of Texas. In this role, he leads statewide efforts to support and grow Texas' commercial music industry, working with musicians, music businesses, communities, trade organizations, and government partners to strengthen the state's music economy.

Before becoming Director in May 2024, Adams served as the Texas Music Office's Community Relations and Outreach Specialist, where he helped expand the highly successful Music Friendly Texas Communities Program. Under his leadership, the program grew significantly, connecting dozens of communities across the state with resources and strategies to support local music ecosystems.

A longtime music industry professional, Adams is also the co-founder of Modern Outsider, an Austin-based independent record label and artist management company. His experience spans artist development, record label operations, marketing, touring, licensing, and community engagement, giving him a broad perspective on the opportunities and challenges facing the music industry.

Known for his collaborative approach and commitment to advancing Texas music, Adams continues the Texas Music Office's mission of promoting music as a driver of economic development, cultural identity, and community vitality throughout the state.
