Tom was involved with one of the original three Main Street demonstration communities. He helped set up the National Main Street Center’s Main Street model, which is now used in more than 4,500 communities. Tom believes as the workforce and consumer base moves from the Baby Boom generation to the emerging X, Y, and Z entrepreneurial and tech-savvy generations, there will be dramatic changes in how and where people live and work. Planners must monitor these trends and identify the opportunities for innovation in Main Street and downtown development.
Tom Moriarity, Principal of Retail Development Strategies, LLC, has a strong background in architecture and historic preservation.
