Minorities Bridging the Gap

The foodservice industry is repeatedly confronted with an image problem: their current challenge is to present changes and opportunities to potential employees and their families. Paired with other barriers, compensation, including wages and benefits, appears to be the most-identified barrier to increased participation by racial and ethnic minorities in foodservice employment. Peters outlines the many steps the foodservice industry needs to take in order to welcome and encourage ethnic groups to participate in the field.
